Information for our patients

Your stay in the urology Heilbronn is provided for your quick recovery. In our hands lies the duty of care for the planned medical procedure. To make your treatment as effective and safe as possible, we need your support in the preparation phase.

Please read the following carefully. The Urology clinic is available for organizational issues you may have.

A first impression about the spatial structure in the hospital you will receive orientation on the basis of our plan.

Two weeks before your confinement it is forbidden to take blood diluting medicine like Aspirin, Godamed, Marcumar. The same is true in diabetes patients for Metformin and Plavix.

Application

You will be taken one day prior to surgery late morning in the urology clinic. First you have to imagine in the central-admission of the hospital. This is located in the entrance of the hospital (Building G). For each patient and treatment you need a referral, for each hospital stay a briefing note of the treating physician. A declaration of cost your insurer / insurance company, your insurance card and the pension insurance / aid number, you should bring with them.

With these documents you will go in the central-administration. If you do not do this yourself, please leave the formalities of a relative or friend.


Signatures

Signatures, you need to assist in the recording of:
- Treatment contract
- Consent
- Any agreements of optional services
- Patients risk survey of the Urology Clinic

For legal reasons, we ask you to sign the treatment contract and the consent form. Your signature authorizes us, if necessary, to disclose your information to health insurance, doctor, etc.. For a possible agreement of optional services (eg head physician care, accommodation in single / double room, etc.) is also your signature is necessary.
The general terms of the clinic (AVB) are visible in the central-admission and the nurse manager.


Hospital admission

When you have completed the formalities of recording, you have to go with the documents, which were handed to you in the central-admission, to the urologic outpatient clinic on level 4. The path is signposted. The doctor on duty will examine you carefully, examines the existing evidence and inform you of the planned operation.

If your confinement done with anesthesiamore tests will be performed (ECG, X-ray, laboratory). The responsible anesthesiologist will inform you in a separate anesthesia hours and clears by using an anesthetic procedure. Please note that you for some contrast studies (CT), shall be sober. For the preoperative blood sample is it not necessary.


Emergency Confinement

In the case of emergency confinement, patients have to registrate themselves no later than the next day. Otherwise, the invoice will be sent of the patient’s private address and you must pay yourselves.


Station H61

If all the necessary checks are carried out and if the documents are complete, you will be show your room at the urologic ward H61 and you will have a detailed information with the responsible staff in nursing.


Anesthesia

At least six hours before anesthesia you may not drink and anything to eat and to smoke. On the same day after anesthesia you may not participate actively in the road traffic.


Hospital Care

The clinic will advise on issues of rehabilitation and law of sevelery. The contact can be made on admission or during your stay.


Questions / Patient visits

If you have any questions about things you will need as an inpatient or when you can be visited, we will give you all information you need to our urological wards.
